Due to business requirements, we are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Senior Advisor within the Financial Crime Compliance team to assist the MLRO in the oversight of First Bank’s Institutional Banking Correspondent Banking relationships. Please note that this is a hybrid position with 3 days working from the office & 2 days working from home. Key Responsibilities: Act as the 2LOD contact point for FB UK’s Correspondent Banking relationships. Ensure that there are suitable controls in place to mitigate risk that arise from Correspondent and Respondent Banking relationships, and that these are being tested effectively. Identifying areas where the function can be made more efficient and effective to maximise positive customer experience and business results, whilst ensuring that financial crime risk is being robustly mitigated. Effectively work with the Business as it expands the client base that can pass MT103s through the Bank. Effectively assess the policies, procedures, systems and controls of FB UK’s Respondent Banks. Carry out onsite visits to Respondent Banks to assess compliance culture and perform sample checks of customer due diligence (CDD) files. Draft detailed and well formulated Risk Assessment reports of respondent Bank Financial crime Frameworks Support the Business in effective communication with external parties, e.g. audit and regulators. Provide specialist training & advice to the Business. Provide daily oversight and support to the Correspondent Banking team member(s) & carry out people management responsibilities. Any other ad hoc projects at the request of the MLRO as and when required. Key Skills/Experience: Significant experience working in financial crime compliance in the financial services sector. Strong experience in Correspondent Banking products and services. Previous experience of working with internal auditors and regulators. Significant experience in building framework from scratch. Experience working with Banks outside the UK (particularly West Africa) would be advantageous. Ideally some previous experience within 1LOD. Comprehensive understanding of the UK regulatory framework & accounting & auditing practices. Excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
