Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing the commercial aspects of high-rise social housing projects, working closely with senior quantity surveyors and project managers. You will play an essential role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing precise cost estimates and budgets for high-rise social housing projects. Monitor project costs and ensure they align with approved budgets. Support the preparation and approval of valuations, variations, and final accounts. Contract Support: Assist in drafting and managing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure all contract documentation is accurate and compliant with relevant requirements. Aid in managing contract variations and assist with dispute resolution as needed. Procurement: Support the procurement process, including tender preparation, analysis, and supplier negotiations. Help manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of detailed commercial reports for senior management. Assist in tracking financial performance, including forecasting and cash flow management. Participate in regular financial reviews and audits to maintain accuracy and accountability. Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior quantity surveyors to develop and refine your skills. Collaborate with project managers and on-site teams to facilitate smooth project delivery. Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to problem-solving discussions.Requirements Experience: 1-3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction industry. Experience with high-rise residential or social housing projects is advantageous but not essential. Skills: Strong numerical and analytic skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software tools. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally within the role. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
