This requires us to challenge our suppliers and our own colleagues to continually improve to meet our customer expectations in quality, service, delivery and value for money.\n\nOur Apprentice CNC Machinist \nOur team is made up of experienced engineers with years of industry knowledge and understanding and are always looking for opportunities to improve and grow along with the company.\n\nAs an Apprentice CNC Machinist/toolmaker, your duties include;\nWhile at College\nâ¢\tAttend college 2 days per week in semester 1 and 3 days a week in semester 2, at the times associated with the qualification and agreed by tutors and managers\nâ¢\tWork closely with EDETA as the nominated service provider for the Company throughout the apprentice programme.\nâ¢\tComplete the required work associated with module assessments in a timely manner, raising issues early when not meeting required deadlines.\n\nWhile at Work\nâ¢\tWork with time served colleagues on how to safely set and operate shop floor machinery\nâ¢\tAccurately measuring and working to the product specification tolerances\nâ¢\tDevelop Machining and programming skills\nâ¢\tEnsure work areas kept tidy\nâ¢\tAny other tasks required by Production Team.\nâ¢\tFrom year 2, start working towards an SVQ Level 3 and Modern apprenticeship in conjunction with the training provider Edeta.\n\nApprentice CNC Machinist/toolmaker\nIn return, you will receive a starting rate dependant on age & qualifications, which is paid on fortnightly with any overtime paid at enhanced rates. \nYour working week will be Monday to Friday 08:00am till 16:30pm. As an apprentice CNC Machinist/Toolmaker, you will attend Edinburgh College in Dalkeith part time 2 to 3 days per week in year 1 and 2 days a week in year 2. The days when not at college will be spent in the workplace. After completion of year 2 you will be expected to continue studying for an HNC.\n\nYour apprentice programme will focus on the following;\nâ¢\tYear 1 \t\t- Completing Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) SVQ Level 2 \nâ¢\tYear 2 - National Certificate at Edinburgh College\nâ¢\tYears 3 and 4\t- HNC\nâ¢\tYear 2, 3 & 4\t- Training in the workplace, working towards an SVQ level 3.\n\nYou will attend Edinburgh College (Midlothian) and therefore will need to have your own transport or use of public transport when commuting to work or college when term starts.
