Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Radiology Department. We are looking for an 'amazing' Radiology Appointments Officer to work within a team of dedicated staff within the Radiology Department. The successful candidate will need to always provide high level customer service and possess excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are an essential part of this role. Main duties of the job 1. To maintain a comprehensive radiological examination appointment system for the Department by ensuring all appointment requests are accurately input onto the x-ray system in a timely manner, in line with Trust and Government guidelines. 2. To undertake a comprehensive search of systems to cross reference patient examinations to ensure no duplicate requests are inputting and ensure patient demographic data is accurate. 3. Where appropriate, to ensure requests are verified by x-ray consultants and clinical leads prior to the appointing and providing print outs of previous reports to facilitate this process. 4. Take action as necessary to ensure patient DNAs are recorded and dealt with in line with Trust protocols. Produce appointments letters in a timely manner enclosing the correct preparation sheet and medication required according to radiologist and department guidelines/protocols. 12. Co-ordinate patient information to include admission for special interventional procedures with the referring consultants secretary and informing wards of appointment time and preparation required. 13. Frequently exposed to distressing circumstances when communicating with patients/relatives regarding appointments and preparation for procedures. 14. Keep a record of maintenance agreements for room services to ensure lists are re-allocated/closed. 15.
