Speciality Doctor - Psychiatry Older Adults

We are looking for a Specialty Doctor to work within our Older Adults service, based at Berrywood Hospital, Duston
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to participate on the SAS on-call rota of which the commitment in the county is currently 1: 9 2% renumeration, 1.5 PAs for predictable work - providing cover for Adult, Old Age and Learning Disability Services. Consultants provide support to SAS Doctors who work mainly in the community and Trainee Doctors whose duties cover mainly inpatient work. The post holder is expected to have Section 12(2) Approval.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* oMRCPsych or equivalent
* oFull GMC Registration
* oMinimum of 4 years SHO or higher grade in psychiatry.
* oPrevious old age psychiatric experience
* oEligibility or approval under Section12 of the Mental Health Act
* oAdditional Postgraduate Qualifications
* oPublications or experience in writing psychiatric legal reports.
* oManagement training

* oAbility to motivate and develop junior Medical Staff and other MDT members.
* oTo balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole
* oAn understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate.
* oAble to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* oPost holder will need to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
* oAn understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate.
* oWide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
* oAble to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
* oExperienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation.
