Job Overview To provide a comprehensive nurse specialist service, clinical support and expertise to patients either suspected of or having been diagnosed with Lung Cancer or mesothelioma, their family/carers and other healthcare professionals in the Trust and community. You will work in collaboration with MDT and Lead Clinician to provide a high quality service to patients with a diagnosis of lung cancer. Support Lung Cancer nursing resource giving advice and psychological support to patients, carers and health care professionals and to initiate education and training as appropriate. You will need to be able to demonstrate reviewing of nursing practice, and implementation of appropriate changes based on research/ best practice. You will support development, implementation and completion of Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives and to advise patients on access to local and national lung cancer trials. Meet local and national targets for Lung Cancer in collaboration with the MDT. Further develop, maintain and evaluate Nurse led clinics and other nurse led initiatives. Undertake further personal professional development and training as identified and agreed through the process of a professional development plan. Lead on patient tracking with administration manager to maintain performance and escalate delays accordingly.
