A global defence and security company is looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team! This role is primarily field-based, supporting customers worldwide by performing various tasks on naval vessels, commercial ships, and shore-based systems. This offers you the opportunity to travel around the UK & globally, working on cutting-edge projects across naval vessels, commercial ships, and shore-based systems.
Responsibilities
1. Regular travel within the UK and to various international destinations is a key aspect of this role, with the possibility of short notice travel requests. However, most trips are brief, typically lasting no longer than two weeks.
2. Perform service interventions, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
3. Provide detailed service reports and expense documentation promptly upon completion of each task.
4. Maintain effective communication with line management, reporting any technical issues encountered in the field.
5. While in the office, assist the Customer Services Technical Helpdesk by responding to customer emails and, when necessary, creating Technical Advice Sheets.
6. Always aim for excellence in Quality, Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction.
7. Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations during working hours.
8. Complete required training courses as needed.
9. Occasionally, be prepared to work beyond the standard 37-hour week or outside of regular hours while adhering to contractual obligations.
Requirements
1. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
2. Strong background in using various hardware and software applications.
3. Knowledge of basic Networking.
4. Full driving licence.
5. Valid passport.
6. ONC qualified preferably but not essential.
