Award-winning international renewable energy asset developer, heavily involved in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and solar farm projects, with a focus on HV and EHV grid connection, many of which are among the largest in the UK, requires a Protection and Control Design Engineer. With previous experience designing high voltage protection systems, this is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation at the forefront of renewable energy grid integration. Responsibilities: Produce HV protection designs for grid connection of battery storage and solar farms, including cable schedules, wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams and schematics at voltage levels of 33kV, 132kV, 275kV and 400kV Production of protection and main connection drawings Calculation of protection settings Equipment specification and liaison with manufacturers and suppliers covering switchgear, panels, relays, batteries and DNO interface boxes Take part in project meetings Act as technical specialist for all HV control and protection matters Experience and Qualifications: Background as a Control & Protection Design Engineer in the HV sector, gained with either an ICP, DNO / iDNO, National Grid engineering consultancy or contractor A background working on battery storage, solar or other renewable energy projects is desirable Degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or related discipline This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Protection Design Engineer, who is passionate about the future of energy to join an organisation of like-minded people, working on some of the largest schemes of their kind in the UK.
