We are seeking a Manager or Associate Director to join our Tax Incentives Team to accommodate our ever-growing client base. As a Manager or Associate Director, you must demonstrate a depth of technical knowledge of the R&D and Capital Allowance legislation, applying this knowledge to develop solutions to complex technical issues, together with managing a team in demanding assignments on a day to day basis. This is a hybrid working, client-facing, advisory position that will often include site visits. The team allows for an ambitious candidate as there will be scope for their ideas to be implemented with freedom in management style. There is also potential to tailor the position to suit their goals. Main Responsibilities: Take responsibility for the portfolio of R&D and Capital Allowance clients that are sizable in both scope and scale by providing intelligent and creative advice both reactively and proactively, presenting solutions in increasingly complex areas Take ownership of the client relationship and understand the needs of their business Writes and communicates on high-quality tax deliverables, tailored to specifies of the client Leads, manages, motivates and coaches managers and junior team members by inducting them effectively, giving regular feedback and completing timely appraisals Have a sound awareness and adherence to the firm’s risk management processes and procedures Actively manages financial operations of the team and meets own financial targets set Participates in the future growth of the team including identifying new opportunities and being actively involved in the tendering process for new clients Demonstrates an understanding of the full range of the firm’s products, services and capabilities and seeks to participate in business development activities and contributes to sales pitches, for own team as well as wider firm Skills and Attributes: ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified Significant post-qualification experience of working in a high performing tax team focusing on R&D and Capital Allowance projects Experience in other creative sector reliefs is desirable Strong technical knowledge of R&D and Capital Allowance including proven ability to deliver on large engagements Approachable and respected members of the team who takes a proactive interest in the team’s performance, development and wellbeing Capable of working on your own initiative while taking responsibility and ownership for wider team issues Proven ability to identify opportunities for clients and ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders Life at GT What does this mean for you?
