Internal Credit Ratings Analyst - Salary of up to £45,000 The focus of this role is to provide support to the specialists within the Credit Rating Methodology team to execute the rolling methodology review plans including the production of regular MI to support ongoing assurance testing. The role is an excellent development opportunity to contribute to the improvement of credit rating processes and controls in a growing business. This role will ensure that the governance of the internal rating methodologies runs effortlessly. A bit about the job: Aviva is building out its internal credit rating and governance team within the Finance function, reporting to the Rating Methodology Oversight Senior Manager. This role will work closely with a range of colleagues from the Annuity Asset Origination, Chief Investment Office and Aviva Investors teams depending on the particular asset class. The Internal credit rating team reports into the Life Actuarial Reserving Lead who supports the UK IWR Chief Actuary, who has regulatory responsibility for the appropriateness of internal credit ratings. Key responsibilities Maintain a detailed and up to date log of all approved methodologies Develop and maintain an easily accessible electronic filing system containing all approved reviews, details of all methodology differences, rating agency research papers, asset manager rating reviews, other committee papers and any other documents as required by the Credit Rating Methodology specialists Maintain a high-level rolling 5yr plan of all reviews and detailed annual plan of upcoming reviews and other tasks as set out in the UK IWR Credit Risk policy Develop and produce regular MI on a timely basis to support ongoing assurance testing Provide secretariat support for expert judgement panels (and any other meetings requiring support as requested by the Credit Rating Methodology specialists) Skills and experience we're looking for: Experience analysing data or developing MI at a rating agency or in a related credit environment (banking or asset manager preferred). Relevant undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related discipline. Strong analytical and organisational skills Self-motivated, able to prioritise and adapt to changing demands Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
