What skills and experience we're looking for
Specific responsibilities for this post:
Attendance Tasks:
• Undertake daily registration procedures and monitor late arrivals;
• Liaise with parents/carers regarding absences (daily);
• Process all absence requests from parents/carers and notify them of outcome (daily);
• To help promote positive attitudes and raise awareness of the impact of good attendance with all stakeholders;
• Notify PDC’s of 3 day and over absence concerns and flag any absence concerns to Admissions and attendance Officer;
• Occasionally there may be the requirement to accompany a member of the pastoral team on home visits;
• Flag any attendance concerns to Admissions and Attendance Officer and follow up any necessary actions.
• Monitor and update reflective area, after school detention and other sanctions, including associated paperwork/communications to parents via Bromcom
Admissions Tasks:
• Assist the Admissions and Attendance Officer in the Y6/Y7 admissions and transition process;
• Assist the Admissions and Attendance Officer with the in-year admissions and transition process;
• Offer support in the appeals process ensuring that College is represented effectively through accurate statements;
• Assisting where required with new parents/open evenings, etc.
First Aid Tasks:
• Assist with any first aid incidents throughout the day;
• First point of contact for the medical room when students are feeling unwell; (other than between 8.30 -10am and 2.00 - 2.30pm when registration duties take precedent)
• Responsible for recording any first aid incidents in the medical book, and transferring details on to Bromcom;
• Assist in the process for producing Health care plans for Epi-pen users, diabetics, epileptics and other necessary health conditions.
Assistant Head teacher Administrative Support:
• Preparation of reports statistics for board of Governors;
• Any other duties commensurate to the grading of the post as directed by the Deputy Principal/Admissions and Attendance Officer.
General Administration:
• Work with the pastoral team to ensure digital, pastoral and safeguarding records are transferred between schools;
• Maintain secure electronic filing system and ensure systematic filing of paper records for ease and speed of access;
• Undertake and participate in training, coaching and general guidance with/for other staff
