Design Engineer Location: Manchester (Hybrid - Design Office Home) Job Type: Full-time Salary: £(phone number removed)We are seeking a Design Engineer to join an exciting business, focusing on designing and developing components for the aerospace/aviation industries. This role offers hybrid working 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. You will report directly to the Design Manager and play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of engineering excellence. Day-to-day of the role: Design and develop aircraft components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with civil and military aviation industry standards. Generate production drawings for components and assemblies using written specifications. Handle drawing change requests in line with our change management procedures. Engage in reverse engineering of components for product improvements or changes using 2D metrology equipment. Oversee projects from the design phase through to full-scale production. Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to ensure seamless design and production processes. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the design office. Participate in both internal and customer-facing meetings as required.Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD applications and SolidWorks for modelling. Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM and Aprotec DMS vaulting systems. Experience of reverse engineering. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support design work with appropriate calculations and theory. Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel. Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) level is desirable
