ESG Credit Analyst - London
This is a great job for someone who is early in their ESG career and looking to make their next step. You'll be passionate about ESG investing and would like to play an integral role in expanding our ESG capability within our Credit function.
A bit about the job:
Our Credit Team represents a large part of our business, currently managing $120bn across multiple investment desks. The role presents an excellent opportunity to work in a strategically important area at an asset manager with ambition and influence. You'll also have a direct role enabling our clients and their investments adapt to the ESG opportunities and risks they face, including important issues like climate change. You'll be working alongside experienced ESG Analysts within a dedicated Credit ESG Team, working closely with our Credit Investment Teams in London, Paris, and Toronto. You'll be responsible to produce high quality and dynamic ESG research to support investment decisions, as well as undertake engagements to generate investment and sustainable outcomes for our clients. You'll also have a key role in the delivery of our current ESG integration activities with opportunity to design, develop and deliver new sustainability assessment frameworks that'll enable our strategic ESG ambitions.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
* You will have experience of conducting ESG research, ESG engagement and ESG integration related activities within a Credit Team.
* Experience in ESG analysis and processes and/or analyst background with a preference for fixed income or broader financial market/asset management experience.
* Although there are no financial ownership related to this role, experience of being accountable for producing high quality ESG research for our credit team is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to our risk and control framework, ensuring that processes related to your role are complete.
* Solid understanding of ESG materiality in an investment process. Knowledge of how ESG considerations can impact portfolio construction and investment performance and experience of working with investment teams.
* Awareness and understanding of material ESG trends, investment themes, ESG-related policy and regulation and key stakeholders. Married with exceptional data management skills, preferably experience in integrating sustainability data and investment analytics into investment management processes.

In this role you'll be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority's Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we'll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we'll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain 'fit and proper' and competent to carry out your role. We'll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
