Mutual Energy is a mutualised company, which owns the Moyle Interconnector, the Scotland-Northern Ireland pipeline, and the Gas to the West pipeline, all critical parts of the local energy transmission infrastructure. Mutual transports almost all of Northern Ireland's natural gas, and a significant part of Northern Ireland's electricity. Due to a vacancy, we are seeking to appoint an Operations Engineer for the Moyle Interconnector.
Role:
The Operations Engineer will support the continued implementation and development of the Mutual Energy Asset Management System, to ensure continued high reliability and availability of the Moyle Interconnector.
Key Duties:
1. Act as a key user of the Mutual Energy Asset Management System, utilising the system to drive Moyle availability and reliability.
2. Manage day-to-day operational activities of Moyle, including maintenance and key replace/refurbishment programmes.
3. Identify and support best practice in asset management, including asset risk management and condition assessment, asset information, and risk-based decision making.
4. Participate, and drive a positive culture, in Mutual Energy's corporate Health & Safety, Environmental, risk management and personnel processes.
Essential Criteria:
1. A third level qualification or equivalent in engineering or other relevant subject.
2. Circa three years relevant experience of HV electricity transmission, distribution or power generation, or equivalent.
3. Working knowledge of relevant electricity standards.
4. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes or alternative.
5. A right to work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria:
1. Previous project management/maintenance management experience.
2. Track record of delivery of refurbishment or replacement projects in a complex environment.
3. Ability to implement and deliver change initiatives for Mutual Energy.
4. Detailed knowledge of GB, NI and RoI energy sector.
5. Detailed knowledge of ISO 55001.
6. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
7. Working knowledge of HVDC implementations, and relevant electricity industry legislation.
8. Knowledge of electricity or gas transmission systems and the wider energy industry and legislation.
9. Affiliation to a professional body e.g. IET.
