Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available To develop innovation ideas, both technical and non-technical, from initial identified opportunities through to the start of the Delivery stage, at which point this will be passed to a Delivery Project Manager. This will include: completing a review of the topic internally and externally to help define the project scope; ensuring the initial business case is suitably developed in conjunction with the Innovation Analyst; identifying and gaining approval for funding from the most suitable source; ensuring the project is appropriately ranked alongside the existing innovation pipeline; identifying suitable roles including the sponsor, Delivery Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert, and gaining approval for the project to move to the delivery stage. The Project Manager should lead their teams in alignment with the SSE Safety Culture and leadership values, as well as adhering to our project governance frameworks. Investigating and developing a methodology for 'horizon scanning' new ideas and technology based on business strategy. Researching and developing white papers for specific new technologies, processes or methods that will deliver innovation benefits in the medium and long term. Coordinating innovation with IT and Data team at SSEN-Transmission. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: Reasonable industry knowledge of how the electricity networks are owned, operated and paid for. Excellent project management skills; able to effectively plan own and others' time. Outstanding facilitation skills; ensures people reach agreement and develop effective work practices. Takes ownership of problems and requests and maintains quality of work even in a pressurised environment. Desirable engineering knowledge to degree level or equivalent experience.
