Do you want to play your part in launching a tool that could utterly transform how we plan for our futures?
We’re seeking a passionate, creative Communications Officer to help us promote Pensions Dashboards, which will help millions of citizens make sound decisions.
You’ll join a dynamic friendly team and have huge scope to show your skills across both the dashboards programme, but also in the wider Money & Pensions Service. This is a unique opportunity to work on a major government programme which is full of confidence as it gathers pace.
Here is an insight to the Pensions Dashboard Programme and MoneyHelper:
Pensions dashboards will enable people to access key information about all of their UK pensions, private and State, in one place online, revolutionising how people engage with their pensions throughout their lives. Enabling the delivery of pensions dashboards will require up to 52m adults in the UK to be connected with up to around 43,000 pension providers and schemes to search for their pensions.
This hugely significant development has the potential to improve the financial wellbeing of millions of people.
The programme is well underway to delivering a solution for the benefit of UK citizens. MaPS has created the Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) which is delivering the digital architecture and governance that make dashboards possible – working closely with the pensions industry, regulators and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Industry has had, and will continue to have, a crucial role to play in designing and developing the necessary components to make pensions dashboards possible.
This role will have close links and joint tasks with the wider MaPS communications team, who oversee communications for MaPS and the MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard – the non-commercial dashboard which will launch first.
The Communications Officer will report directly to Digital Communications Lead. In this role you will be responsible for the following;
* Design and deliver programme-specific communications outputs and activities.
* Draft and proofread content, overseeing the production of various programme materials such as progress update reports, technical standards, guidance, email newsletters, and briefing packs.
* Create engaging blogs, web news stories, articles, social media content, and newsletters for both internal and external audiences.
* Support stakeholder engagement activities, including the delivery of events, webinars, and draft direct communications as needed.
* Assist with the planning and analysis of communication activities, ensuring effective reporting and strategic alignment.
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proven experience working collaboratively and building/maintaining good working relationships.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
* Skilled in interpreting complex and varied subject matter, conveying it in an engaging and understandable manner to diverse audiences.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

* Experience in running events/webinars, preferably within a stakeholder engagement context.
* Proficient in writing for the web, adhering to style guides, and maintaining a consistent brand tone across all content.
* Experience in managing website content, using CMS, and handling social media channels, including proficiency with tools like Hootsuite for scheduling, monitoring, and analysing content performance.
* Flexible and able to respond positively to change, work effectively under pressure, and manage conflicting priorities.
* Ability to work diplomatically and impartially in multi-cultural settings.
