As an experienced Contracts Manager, you will ensure that the road surfacing contracts are carried out on time and to the company quality standards. This role will be managing various contracts on various highways surfacing frameworks and major projects. Based in the office in Sheffield and out on site. This role is for an excellent contractor with a solid reputation for high quality work.
Requirements
For this role, it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum:
1. SMSTS
2. First Aid
3. CSCS Card
4. Driving License
Desirable would be any other qualifications, highways passport, IOSH/NEBOSH, etc. For this role, it is essential that you hold the skills & experience below:
1. Experience managing multiple surfacing schemes or civils packages with surfacing as a sub contract
2. Previous experience as a Contracts Manager for a main contractor in Civils
The Role
Job Title: Contracts Manager
Projects: Surfacing, Public Realm, Highways
Location: Sheffield (Travel across the north of England)
Duties
1. Managing multiple surfacing contracts to achieve financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets
2. Pre-contract planning and liaison with estimators
3. Leading and delegating duties to engineering and contract staff
4. Maintaining a working knowledge of current contract forms, acts, and legislation
5. Accepting, approving, and issuing contracts and subcontracts
6. Ensuring company's Health and Safety and other IMS procedures are complied with planning, programming, and resourcing contracts
7. Liaising, negotiating, and meeting with clients, consulting engineers, surveyors, and sub-contractors
8. Assisting with the preparation of quality bids, PQQs, and other presentations as required
9. Providing technical, contractual, and legal advice
10. Providing accurate information for regional monthly contract appraisals and other reports as required
11. Budgeting, monitoring, and control of contract finances
12. Identifying, evaluating, and managing claims and variations
13. Compiling applications for payment and agreeing final accounts
14. Motivating, coaching, and providing guidance to staff and operatives
15. Interviewing, selection, recruitment, discipline, and dismissal of staff
16. Maintaining photographic library, publicity material, contract press releases, etc.
17. Improving and promoting company profile and activities
Remuneration
The client is offering an excellent package - salary 60k-70k for the right candidate plus a comprehensive benefits package including car or allowance, pension, healthcare, bonus and more.
