Job Title: Support Assistant
Overview:We are seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate positive relationships and attitudes towards pupils with profound, severe, and complex learning needs, and support their educational, social, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing pupils' knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
* Establish supportive relationships to encourage development and self-esteem.
* Monitor and report on pupil progress, health, and behaviour.
* Use IT systems effectively.
* Work independently with groups of children on specific tasks.
* Provide feedback to parents on pupil progress.
* Maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues.
* Administer minor first aid and prescribed medications.
* Support pupils' physical and medical needs, including personal hygiene and mobility.
* Manage challenging behaviours to prevent harm and disruption.
* Supervise and organise playtime activities.
* Accompany children on educational visits.
* Participate in meetings and training sessions.
* Ensure teaching aids and resources are available and maintained.
