Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a mental health practitioner, who is already qualified and registered as a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapist or currently in a formal psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy training recognised by the UKCP or BPC or equivalent, to join an experienced team of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapists.

Main duties of the job
We are offering a range of individual psychoanalytic, psychodynamic and group analytic psychotherapies, supervision, training, teaching and consultancy across the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The team supports the development of psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapeutic skills, research, and practice as a part of the overall provision of psychological therapies within the Trust. The Service is professionally managed and supported within the Specialist Services of the Adult Mental Health Directorate.
The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development and we have an excellent track record for developing our psychology workforce. There are strong links to the local D. Clin. Psy. Programmes as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

The post holder will be responsible in delivering psychoanalytic/psychodynamic assessment and psychotherapy to service users with highly complex conditions. In addition to direct clinical work, the provision of clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues as well as the consultation to other members of the community mental health teams are important elements of the role.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Recognised postgraduate qualification and registration with one of the core mental health professions ., psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology (doctoral or equivalent), counselling psychology (doctoral or equivalent), social work, occupational therapy or other relevant experience and demonstrable competence to work in the mental health field in the NHS
2. Completed or ongoing post-graduate doctoral (or equivalent) training and qualification in psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy accredited by the BPC.
3. Completed or ongoing post-graduate doctoral (or equivalent) training and qualification in psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy accredited by the BPC.
4. Current full or pending membership of professional register BPC and/or HCPC or equivalent body as appropriate.
5. Evidence of continuing professional development.

6. Training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychoanalytic/psychodynamic practice, ., brief psychodynamic therapies, psychodynamic approaches to personality disorder.

10. Provide effective teaching, training and clinical supervision for the multidisciplinary team.
11. Extensive experience working as psychoanalytic/psychodynamic individual psychotherapist or applied psychologist in an NHS or other relevant setting.
