The Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) divisional office and the Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) seek to appoint a dynamic Strategic Project Manager to support us as we take forward an exciting new initiative.
About the role
The University of Oxford is currently exploring the possibility of a strategic alignment between the Department for Continuing Education and the Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM). Over 2025 the University will be exploring and evaluating the potential benefits of a closer strategic alignment between these two entities.
Reporting to the GLAM Registrar and COO with a parallel reporting line to the OUDCE Director of Operations, and working closely with the senior management teams in both institutions, you will lead the delivery of a major strategic project; engaging in the planning, development and delivery of key departmental activities while providing outstanding professional support for senior colleagues in GLAM and OUDCE and managing change where it is implemented, leading teams to business as usual states.
This is a part-time (0.6FTE) role, fixed term until 31 August 2026. The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant, though some flexibility is likely to be required to accommodate set meetings.
About You
The working environment is stimulating, often calling for creative solutions to varied, unstructured problems. You will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of the University’s procedures including its Statutes and Regulations in order to deliver creative solutions to unstructured problems, and the ability to communicate with different audiences at all levels, using tact and discretion where this is required. You will also have experience of strategic change management and the delivery of strategic plans.
