Job overview
Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new opportunity and have a passion for making a difference to people’s lives? Come and work with us on Herm and St Brelades ward, the Dementia assessment wards at Alderney Hospital.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide specialist interventions, undertake assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care for older people with mental health needs. Assessments may require meeting with relatives or carers. You will manage your own caseload of patients and use your initiative to prioritise your work, supported by the Senior OT’s.
In return, we offer regular CPD opportunities if you are looking to progress within your career or develop your skill set.
This is a fixed-term, full-time post working Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
You will contribute to discharge planning including home visits, community resources, and working in close liaison with community teams, carers, and other agencies.
You will provide comprehensive assessment reports and implement findings in liaison with the MDT.
In consultation with the MDT, you will plan and implement client-centered individual and group interventions, using activity analysis and graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals. You will delegate activity tasks where appropriate to MHSW / Activities staff, providing support and direction.
Regularly reflect upon interventions and outcomes to maintain and develop standards of clinical expert practice.
