An exciting opportunity has arisen on our busy general elective surgical ward based at The James Cook University Hospital site, providing care for planned elective and emergency patients. We cover various specialities including urology, gynaecology, ENT, max fax, colorectal and general surgery.
Experience is not essential as training will be provided; however, applicants must be committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

We will support you in developing your surgical knowledge and skills through our team of supportive staff and formal education programme. You will work alongside Doctors, Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists, and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

The leadership and improvement programme aims to:
* Explore leadership within the NHS
* Promote Trust values and behaviours
* Develop your leadership effectiveness and skills
* Equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.
After you complete these three and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals. The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site, which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery, and cancer services. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities. The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community. It is one of the smallest district general hospitals in the country and has 189 inpatient beds.
