The UET
UET (Uplands Enterprise Trust) is a Swindon based charity that helps young people with additional needs to help themselves. We are run by enthusiastic, skilled, and creative staff, with a knowledgeable board of voluntary Trustees.
The UET is constantly developing, expanding, and changing to improve the lives of disabled young people within Swindon and surrounding areas.
Skills for Life Provision
Our unique offer provides tailored support to young people & adults (YP&A) with additional needs through structured activities and a positive social environment.
Many of the young people who access Skills for Life have medical needs in addition to learning disabilities, with a majority of young people having Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This means that although we encourage independence and interdependence as much as possible, a lot of the young people need additional support to participate in activities.
We believe that social interaction is very beneficial and encourage this through group activities.
Examples of activities include, but are not limited to;
· Relaxation & Pamper Sessions,
· Messy Art,
· Sensory (including tactile, water-based and sensory baking sessions),
· Music,
· Sports & Chair Zumba,
· Games & Puzzles,
· Community Outings,
