Job summary An Energy Officer working within the specialist area of energy and water management. The post holder will assist the Energy Manager in ensuring the Trust achieves best practice and value for money in relation to all aspects of energy, water and carbon reduction/management. The post holder will be based within the Estates, Facilities and PFI Division at Royal Stoke however will be expected to undertake duties throughout the Trust. Main duties of the job Monitor and report on energy and water usage and costs. Oversee maintenance of the utility meter reading system(s) used to record monthly reading of utility and sub meters throughout the Trust. This includes the maintenance of the meter definitions and liaison with users and utility companies to ensure the correct identification of meters. Support the Energy Manager in ensuring the PFI contractual requirements associated with energy and energy procurement are managed. Assist the Energy Manager to develop and enhance the systems used for meter reading, invoice verification, monitoring and targeting of energy usage and costs. Facilitate energy and environmental survey work for the Trust, liaise with users and third parties and prepare documents and drawing necessary to support and develop improved energy management throughout the Trust. Assist with the implementation and development of an Automatic Meter Reading system and the Building Energy Management System. Prepare energy information for the completion of the Estates Returns Information Collection (ERIC), and other reporting requirements. Collate and prepare information for the United Kingdom Emissions Trading Scheme (UKETS). Collate and prepare information on energy consumption, cost and carbon for the Trust Annual Report, or for other reviews as requested.
