The Role We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Services Team in Altrincham on a full-time basis. This is a highly technical role responsible for maintaining and optimising cloud services and infrastructure, with a strong focus on resilience, disaster recovery, and capacity planning. The position requires expertise in Azure, Office 365, and networking, along with experience working in high-pressure, demanding environments. The primary responsibility is to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that meets the core needs of large-scale business operations. Additionally, the role will involve implementing cloud- based solutions, ensuring cost optimisation, performance monitoring, and supporting the organisation's cloud strategy for future growth and innovation. Job Description Duties & Responsibilities Core Responsibilities: Serve as a key technical resource for architecting future solutions across the CCH Group. Manage multiple concurrent projects for both Technical Services and the broader business. Collaboration within cross-functional teams is essential, alongside strong project experience. Uphold a “Security First” mindset, both personally and as part of a wider team, ensuring secure systems in collaboration with the Head of IT Infrastructure. Act as a point of escalation for infrastructure-related issues. Technical Responsibilities: Maintain server and network systems in both Azure and on-premises environments. Research and develop innovative ideas and technologies to improve infrastructure. Specify and implement technical solutions and infrastructure technologies to meet evolving business needs. Manage and maintain group-wide backup and recovery systems. Ensure adherence to change control procedures when working with infrastructure technologies. Support & Training: Train Service Desk Analysts on system maintenance tasks and provide on-call support when necessary. Offer technical training on 2nd-line skills and tasks to Service Centre staff as required. Participate in critical issue calls while on shift or on call and drive them to resolution. Document technical solutions and plans to ensure clarity and continuity. Additional Responsibilities: Build and configure software on servers as needed. Actively support the implementation and maintenance of secure and scalable IT systems. Qualifications The Successful Candidate Will Possess: Proven ability to support complex, multi-site technical architectures. Demonstrated expertise in delivering change and driving innovation within a regulated environment. Strong working knowledge of network and server hardware and systems. In-depth understanding of Microsoft Networking and Operating Systems. Exceptional technical support and troubleshooting skills. Experience in implementing and managing system rollouts and maintenance projects. A track record of driving and meeting KPIs directly related to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Technical Experience Required: Managing Azure-based infrastructure. Working with hybrid infrastructures. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online. Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services, Microsoft Power Platform, and Office 365 Exchange Online. Desirable Experience: Project management skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives. Experience working in varied environments with mixed operating systems and architectures. Senior technical roles within large, multi-site businesses. Knowledge of the care sector is highly advantageous. Managing integrations of services following mergers or acquisitions. Developing and implementing Disaster Recovery Plans.
