We are seeking a creative and skilled Social Creator to join our dynamic team at The Mel Robbins Podcast. This individual will be instrumental in producing compelling video content tailored for social media platforms, inspiring and motivating millions of people around the world with every clip.
As a Social Creator, you must have a sharp eye for trends, storytelling, and visual aesthetics. Your primary focus will be on creating engaging short-form videos designed for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and more. You will collaborate closely with the social media team and Post Production team to bring creative concepts to life while maintaining brand consistency and quality.
What You'll Be Doing:
Social Media Responsibilities:
* Plan, produce, and edit short-form and long-form content tailored to platform-specific requirements and audience behaviors - engaging video content optimized for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
* Collaborate with the social media team to pitch and execute on-trend, impactful content ideas in alignment with our growth goals.
* Develop attention-grabbing video trailers, teasers, and promotional content tailored for various audiences.
* Experiment with innovative video editing techniques to stay ahead of social media trends.
* Collaborate with social teams, content teams, designers, and marketing teams to align content with brand voice, marketing strategies, and campaign goals.
* Actively participate in content planning sessions, aligning with overall social strategies.
* Maintain a consistent, high-quality output of short-form videos to meet publishing schedules.
* Manage the end-to-end production process, including pre-production planning, shooting, editing, and post-production workflows of assigned videos.
* Develop and pitch creative concepts for video series, reels, and other media that resonate with target audiences.
* Stay ahead of trends in digital storytelling, video editing techniques, and platform algorithms to keep content fresh and impactful.
Optimization & Analytics:
* Monitor performance metrics for social content and utilize insights to refine future strategies.
* Experiment with A/B testing to determine the most effective formats, styles, and approaches for engagement.
Brand and Podcast Content Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end production process for creating social media clips from the podcast and with podcast guests, including planning, shooting, and editing short-form video content.
* Incorporate music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance storytelling.
* Repurpose podcast content into short, snackable clips suitable for social media.
* Ensure all video content aligns with brand standards and resonates with the audience.
General Responsibilities:
* Consult with stakeholders throughout the production and post-production processes.
* Maintain an organized file library and archive for all content.
* Stay informed about social media best practices and trends to continuously improve content strategies.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Qualifications:
* 2-4+ years of experience in video production, editing, and/or social media content creation.
* Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
* Experience with Descript is a bonus.
* Proficient in editing for various social platforms, ensuring seamless formats, transitions, and pacing.
* Basic graphic design and motion graphics experience is a plus.
* Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Understanding of current social media trends, platform algorithms, and audience engagement strategies.
* Familiarity with analytics tools and native platform insights.
* Strong familiarity with social media platforms and their unique content requirements (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts).
* Proven ability to produce high-quality, engaging short-form videos.
* Exceptional attention to detail with a creative flair for storytelling and narrative building.
* Ability to collaborate in a vibrant team environment while taking independent initiative.
* Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
* Bonus: Experience with filming and production equipment.
