NLC5 (£27,324 - £28,861) (plus allowances)
Based at Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell, you will provide key support across all three of the Councils Country Parks; Strathclyde, Drumpellier and Palacerigg. You will provide advice and information to Country Parks visitors ensuring the highest standard of customer care; patrolling by vehicle or on foot, the park area. You will be involved in the security of the premises during opening hours and responsible for the day to day cleaning.
You will oversee the general safety and behaviour of the public making use of the Country Parks facilities along with the sale and collection of tickets for charges related to the use of the facilities. Allocation and maintenance of equipment and premises, general porterage and handyperson duties will also form part of the daily duties.
You will be able to undertake the physical duties of the role and be a positive and enthusiastic individual with a pleasant and approachable manner. The ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers, as well as moderate previous experience of working with the public in a leisure related environment and moderate general cleaning and maintenance of facilities experience is required. You will require a driving licence; have cash handling experience, have working knowledge of the use of hand and small power tools and the ability to swim 50m unaided. It would be advantageous that you hold a first aid certificate or be willing to undertake this training.
The post will operate on a shift rota working a combination of 10 and 11 hour shifts between 7am and 10pm and averaging 37 hours per week.
Work Pattern (example):
7 days out of 14 days,
Week 1: Monday 10 hrs - Tuesday 10hrs - Friday 11hrs -
Saturday 11hrs - Sunday 11hrs
Week 2: Wednesday 10hrs - Thursday 11hrs

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
