Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team, focusing on maintaining the UK rail network. Our clients include Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will handle project upgrades mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM, etc., including survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS in a Rail environment.
Typical Deliverables:
* Extensive experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
* Potentially lead in developing new product ideas and designing plans.
* Manage projects from initial design through to production and installation.
* Create detailed technical plans for concepts.
* Apply mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
* Select appropriate materials for construction.
* Conduct accurate cost analysis forecasts.
* Complete technical and regulatory documentation.
* Ensure quality control and oversee construction, development, and deployment of systems.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of engineering discipline and related fields.
* Coordinate testing of products, systems, and infrastructure.
* Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Develop personal engineering skills continually.
* Resolve complex problems with innovative perspectives.
* Work independently with minimal guidance.
* Lead projects or project phases and mentor less experienced colleagues.
* Adhere to QEHS requirements.
Skill Requirements:
* Proven experience in technical SISS, engineering, design, and survey skills.
* Relevant licenses and certifications for the sector.
* Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to collaborate effectively and focus on customer needs.
* Problem-solving passion and analytical skills.
