Puprose of the Role
As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for leading our warehouse team and liaising with external business customers to run an efficient, accurate and safe warehouse. You will lead by example to deliver excellence across all areas of the Warehouse, and support the Company to achieve it's targets and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritise the daily and weekly tasks of a warehouse team, picking and packing, unloading deliveries and managing stock locations.
* ‘Hands on’ role working on the floor supervising all warehouse operations, and leading by example
* Analyse and interpret data and reports to inform decisions to improve the performance of the Warehouse and achieve and exceed targets and KPIs
* Manage the performance of team members; developing & coaching your team to upskill them, and addressing any areas of under-performance using formal company procedures
* Communication with Purchasing and Sales Departments regarding stock discrepancies, dispatches, goods in and product-build lead times.
* Support the Head of Operations and the Facilities Manager with aspects of warehouse management including health and safety, fleet and forklift management.
* Stock management, control, and replenishment using WMS system
* Oversee local home delivery via small fleet of vans
* Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transport companies
* Training and supervision of current and new employees
* Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
What We Require From You:
* A strong background in warehouse management with a natural ability to lead, motivate and develop your team.
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions, prioritising tasks based on workload and business need
* A proactive approach to work; take action to drive business and team forward, don't sit back and let it happen!
* Ability to understand and interpret data and KPI reporting
* Understanding of SMART objectives and the 5S methodology
* Strong IT skills and Stock Management skills.
* Strong effective communicator, both written and spoken.
* Positive solution driven attitude where no task is too big or small for you!
