Job Description
Build on your existing nuclear safety case experience in nuclear engineering, risk management, and emergency preparedness. Support a highly regulated Licensee in Cumbria, with flexible working arrangements based in the North West.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting and developing consultancy services in Safety Case, emergency preparedness, Security & Resilience. The role involves consultancy, engineering, analysis, and delivering challenging projects in the nuclear and high hazard sectors in the UK and beyond.
Your work will help stakeholders manage hazards and refine risk management strategies, making a tangible difference.
Qualifications
* A STEM background through education or experience.
* Experience with safety cases relevant to nuclear licensing or decommissioning and waste management.
Key Skills and Experience
* Understanding of nuclear safety cases.
* Ability to analyze Radiological Consequence Assessments and adapt them for specific assessments.
* Experience in preparing technical reports.
* Applying safety and risk engineering processes to identify hazards, author safety cases, and manage risks.
Desirable Skills
* Hazard identification and assessment techniques (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, Event Tree Analysis, Hazard Logs).
* Knowledge of REPPIR (Radiation Emergency Preparedness and Public Information Regulations).
* Resilience & Emergency Preparedness.
* Severe Accident Analysis.
* Cyber Security.
* Nuclear Security Assessments.
