As a Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in guaranteeing that every beer poured and presented to our customers meets the highest standards in our Tied and Retail Houses. Working closely with our TQS Technicians and Beer Trainer, you will optimise beer handling, storage, and presentation processes, helping to enhance the customer experience while reducing operational costs. In collaboration with our General Manager's and all Licensees, Business Development Managers, and Operations Managers, you will drive continuous improvement in the physical quality of our beers, ensuring our brand remains synonymous with excellence. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with our General Manager's, Tenants and all Licensees to complete annual Beer Quality Audits Analyse quality assurance data where beer-in-glass falls below the required standard and together with the Head of TQS, identify a course of action for improvement Advise TQS on installations and usage Organise and implement quality improvement projects Ensure safe working practices and Pressure Systems Code of Practice are followed Champion the compliance of current Health & Safety regulations Train all Licensee's, General Managers, Tenants and staff in basic cellar safety, standards, regeneration of water softeners and line cleaning Assist trade evaluation of all new products and dispense equipment Attend Manager or Tenant change overs, providing a satisfactory handover of equipment and operations Inspect glasses and record glass washing machines and chemicals Record pubs without mechanical or old glass washers and look to install rented machines until a long term salutation can be found Aid our Quality Brewer's in the investigation of trade complaints Investigate all trade ullage claims with in the Tied Estate and resolve Remain compliant on ullage and HMRC criteria Identify 10 highest ullage returns each month and support the Licensee with recommend action for improvement Play an active part in the specialist flavour assessment panel in the Brewery Respond to all customer enquiries in a timely and effective manner To collect and analyse all relevant feedback within the area of control The Ideal Candidate: Demonstrable knowledge of brewing process is desireable Beer dispense equipment, NCCSIM Standard or similar Strong organisational skills and an analytical approach with a desire for problem-solving Conscientious professional with a strong commitment to safety and service Friendly and approachable with the ability to communicate effectively and build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders Diligent and results-focused with strong attention to detail and accuracy to complete paperwork in an efficient and timely manner Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook) and data analytical skills A UK driving license is essential Shepherd Neame may be Britain's oldest brewer but our approach is anything but old-fashioned.
