We are looking for an experienced & enthusiastic Assistant Cook, who understands our charitable mission and can support our Head of Kitchen at Hardmoor Early Years Centre.
This role is a Term Time role.

Job Details:
The role is a permanent Term Time week role - Monday to Friday, covering 20 hours per week and is subject to the applicant's eligibility to work in the UK and a successful DBS clearance.
Hourly Rate: £12.03 per hour
Weekly Hours: 20 Hours Per Week
What Will You Be Doing as an Assistant Cook?
1. Supporting in all planning, preparing & the cooking of great food with exceptional presentation.
2. Together with the Head of Kitchen, supporting to ensure our allergen and special diet menus are followed to the letter and making sure the whole team are aware and familiar with all children who have an allergy and the process involved.
3. Being creatively engaging with the children, the school and the parents. This is so important to us!
4. Be prepared to go that extra mile with catering for school events, like Parents Evenings - we expect our Assistant Cook to be involved in this!
5. Setting an example to the teams you are working with, minimising waste and controlling ingredients and resources to keep the unit running on a set cost per meal.
6. Supporting with all aspects of Health & Safety, environment and quality assurance.
7. Be technically savvy, we use tablets and a lot of technology in our kitchens for temp controls, cleaning checks and routines, timesheets and meal numbers.
8. Build and maintain positive and professional relationships at all times.
What Do You Need To Have?
1. Experience of supporting in the management of a kitchen, preferably in a school or charity environment.
2. Excellent knowledge of allergens and allergen processes.
3. A knowledge of food safety/kitchen hygiene and HACCP or a relevant qualification would be advantageous.
4. Numeracy, budgetary skills and literacy in using IT.
5. Absolute and unquestionable commitment to the Safeguarding of the Nursery's children. (This position is subject to a successful DBS clearance, the cost of which is covered by the Charity).
