An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join an already very successful team. We are currently looking for an HGV Mechanic to undertake repairs of our fleet of various lorries, skip loaders, hook loaders, artics, trailers, and refuse vehicles.
Full time – 6:30am – 4.30pm from Mon to Fri. Overtime may be available during the week as well as on Saturday, so flexibility is desirable.
As an HGV Mechanic, you should have experience and hold welding and other relevant certificates. You will organise and supervise the servicing and repair of HGVs.
Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Liaising and reporting to the workshop manager;
2. Carrying out regular servicing of on-site machinery;
3. General maintenance across the site;
4. Completing daily job sheets;
5. Carrying out repairs and other maintenance on vehicles, machines, and affected components, including engines, brakes, steering, etc.;
6. Using a variety of specialist equipment and tools;
7. Liaising with site management regarding required repairs and part ordering;
8. Liaising with suppliers, sourcing parts, and comparing prices;
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in working within this sector is desirable;
2. Ability to work as part of a team;
3. Punctual;
4. Reliable;
5. Flexible;
6. Full UK Driving Licence (Class I and II desirable, but not essential);
7. Good level of English;
8. Attention to detail;
Essential:
1. Keen to learn new skills and willing to attend training;
2. Proven mechanical experience and relevant skills – e.g., NVQs;
3. High awareness of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards;
