About the Site & the Role:
The role operates within the Runcorn Packaging Site, however, will act as the contact between Runcorn and third parties including Statutory Bodies, Third Party Accreditation Bodies and Central functions.
This is combined with Diageo’s proactive approach to standardisation across its operations and drive towards a culture of compliance as part of its day-to-day operations.
Diageo Runcorn is a FSSC 22000 accredited factory. Food safety is delivered through a well-maintained HACCP plan, adherence to a thorough pre-requisite programme, and a robust internal audit programme.
Your impact on the Role:
Reporting to the Governance Manager and working at all levels across the site, you will lead, develop, implement and maintain food safety management system programmes to deliver compliance with, and improved performance against, Diageo Global Risk Management Standards, ISO 9001:2015, and FSSC22000.
You will be responsible for the creation of a culture of food safety compliance as part of the day-to-day operation of the business. This will be brought to life with a robust internal audit schedule.
Leading ISC Governance food safety initiatives.
Optimally manage through others and be capable of influencing at all levels to ensure continuous improvement in standards application and compliance as part of the way of working on site.
Other key responsibilities:
1. Implementation of a strategic plan to drive continuous improvement in food safety, including completion of food safety and hygiene audits.
2. Maintain the food safety management system that delivers regulatory compliance and ensures that requirements of internal and external accreditation are fully met.
3. Completion of microbiological analysis to schedule
4. Completion of food safety and audit reports to schedule
Qualification & Experience:
One GCE “A” Level Qualification or equivalent in a science subject with relevant experience in a Food-related business in a Quality Assurance / Microbiological role
Experience with exposure to food safety management systems HACCP, Laboratory work preferably microbiological, Standard development & Auditing
Knowledge of the relevant Management Systems including ISO 9001:2015, FSSC22000 / BRC with a good understanding of statutory requirements impacting business e.g.
Should be able to challenge and influence employees, peers and senior managers across the site in an objective and constructive manner.
Demonstrate capability to operate within a fast-moving multifaceted environment.
