We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Technician to join our Electrical and Instrumentation team within our Energy Operations directorate. As a Network Technician, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining, modifying, and repairing our Instrumentation and Electrical (E&I) systems across all gas transportation assets in the Network. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring our systems run smoothly and safely, supporting operational activities, and handling non-routine operations like fault finding and repairs. If you have experience in maintenance, fault finding, and repairing instrumentation systems, along with a solid understanding of instrumentation/electrical drawings, technical documents, and maintenance procedures, we want to hear from you Whether your background is domestic or commercial electrical, if you have electrical testing experience, this could be the perfect role for you. Please note: This position involves frequent travel, so a Full UK Driving Licence is essential.Why You’ll Love This Role • Asset Health: Assess and report the condition of Electrical & Instrumentation equipment and systems. • Maintenance: Maintain E&I assets. • Timely Delivery: Complete work within statutory requirements, ensuring efficiency. • Standby Rota: Participate in an E&I standby rota to maintain service standards. • Supervision: Oversee contractors or third parties, ensuring safe and quality work delivery. • Team Collaboration: Promote strong team relationships across all Cadent activities.What You'll Bring: • Experience: Previous experience in an Electrical and Instrumentation environment, with knowledge of installation processes. • Legislation Knowledge: Familiar with appropriate legislation, policies, and procedures, including E&I technical standards (e.g., BS7671, EAWR, Health and Safety at Work Act). • Codes of Practice: Working knowledge of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions, and statutory regulations. • Qualifications: Electrical testing and inspection qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent), Instrumentation and Control or Electrical Qualification, or an approved apprenticeship. • COMPEX Certification: COMPEX EX01, 02, 03, and 04. Preferred but not mandatory • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
