The HR function has a lead role to play in making our brand meaningful for colleagues. This encompasses creating the right culture, to attract, reward, retain, develop and successfully deploy a high-calibre, impactful, diverse and inclusive workforce. About the role: Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Business Partner is responsible for leading and supporting delivery of the people agenda across assigned business areas. They will Partner closely with the Heads of HR and business leaders to help develop and implement the people strategy. They will use Data & Analytics as well as Business and HR insight to influence change initiatives in collaboration with business leaders and Centers of Expertise (CoE). In addition, the role will partner to lead key project aligned to the people strategy. They will be responsible for: Creating strategic partnerships with leaders and establishing a licence to operate Strategy & Planning: Work with Heads of HR to support specific customer group(s) Lead the design and implementation of the HR Strategy aligning to abrdn strategic objectives Strategic Capability Planning with CoEs: Implementing appropriate capability planning (e.g. talent and resourcing strategies) to deliver the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills Change Management: Working with senior business leaders to proactively plan, advise and support the implementation of change, its’ impact on people and working practices to enable improved business performance whilst ensuring this also supports abrdn’s culture and values Leadership: Forming strong and influential relationships between self, leaders and HR colleagues to deliver strategic value to abrdn. Demonstrates personal credibility and capability across the function to provide a quality service Leveraging the breadth of CoEs to the business: Talent and Organisational Effectiveness, Global Reward, D&I and HR Service HR Service Delivery: Ensuring effective flow of communication between CoEs and the Business. Where appropriate supporting escalations and problem resolution. Employee Engagement: Collaborating with the CoEs and the business to drive employee engagement initiatives and plans for retaining and winning top talent Skills and Experience: Strong relationship skills and ability to build rapport with stakeholders Asset management or financial services background Awareness of what, and how, the wider business strategy can be supported by the HR Function Strong stakeholder management with senior business leaders and ability to influence change Business Partnering, project delivery, CoE expertise with experience of operating in a matrixed global environment Experience coaching and mentoring line managers, project consultants, CoE partners Demonstrated success in delivering results under tight deadlines Global Acumen with sensitivity to diverse cultures and personality types Track Record in driving changes through influencing and communication Positive and driven mindset Strong Delivery Focus Be able to look ahead, anticipate, speak up and act with initiative Value-adding experience and expertise gained in HR functions (such as Business Partnering, Talent, Reward, HR Operations etc.) would be highly beneficial We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
