The low down:
We are seeking someone who loves numbers and the technical aspects of accounting. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for monitoring a range of financial data, preparing accurate statements, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and supporting our annual audit process.
Your role will encompass preparing and managing the consolidated month-end process (between our UK and US entities), reconciling and managing the preparation and payment of VAT/sales taxes, as well as producing flash reports and income reconciliations.

The role is fully remote working, with travel to our New Forest HQ for our periodic business-wide “Cabin Sessions”. The role will also be expected to travel for team events and other ad-hoc reasons specific to performing the role (such as the annual audit process).
What you’ll be doing day to day:
1. Owning the preparation of the consolidated Month end with the support of the wider finance team
2. Detailed phase 1 review of UK and US accounts, including the consolidation process
3. Preparing quarterly VAT returns
4. Reconcile and prepare payment relating to EU VAT, including IOSS submissions
5. Reconcile and prepare payment relating to US Sales Taxes
6. Assisting with unknown bank payments/receipts
7. Preparing the monthly flash reporting in line with WD3 deadlines
8. Reconciliations of Amazon income and charges
9. Monthly sales rec Xero x Shopify (D2C business), also acting as our key contact with A2X when dealing with discrepancies and automation/process improvements
10. Reconciliations of bank and clearing accounts: HSBC, PayPal, Klarna, and Credit Cards
11. Reviewing and approving purchase invoices in Xero
12. Assisting with preparing the annual audit pack and taking part in the annual audit process.
13. Other duties as required by the business.
What you will bring:
1. A qualified accountant with +2 years post qualified experience (ACA or ACCA)
2. Experience of consolidated entity reporting.
3. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
4. Proficiency in spreadsheets (we use GSuite) and Xero.
5. A confident communicator, who can ‘translate’ financial information to non-finance people.
