Maternity services at Saint Mary's Managed Clinical Service provide women living in Manchester, Trafford, Salford, the North West and beyond with primary, secondary and tertiary obstetric services. Saint Mary's is renowned both regionally and nationally for its research, clinical fetal and maternal medicine services. Saint Mary's has a very varied and complex patient population.
The post holder will be experienced in the below
Develop & implement programmes of evidenced based care planning for patient group & their families including reproductive health care.
· Participate in the management of the perinatal mental health clinic & provide clinical expertise.
· Provide direct patient care & have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area
· Develop & maintain effective communication systems both within & outside the trust & create an environment that encourages open communication & trust.
· Ensure referral pathways are agreed & implemented with external agencies e.g. MASH (Manchester Action on Street Health).
· Provide detailed & complex written/oral assessments for social services & court proceedings, work in close partnership with the safeguarding team.
· Act as a resource in the coordination & effective management of the admission & discharge process.
· Ensure that child protection & vulnerable adult legislation is adhered to within own practice & service.
· Support the development & evaluation of policies/guidelines/protocols for speciality clinical practice & support the updating & monitoring of policies/guidelines/protocols specific to the role within MFT.
· Contribute to the clinical effectiveness process, including adverse incident reporting/investigation 7 the management of complaints, as appropriate.
