Position Summary
The NBA is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Brand Strategy Professional. Duties include working with groups across the organization and outside to ensure the brand is accurately depicted in all forms of NBA and partner:produced content and promotion. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining the NBA's foundational brand elements including the NBA's mission, values, personality and tone of voice and elements of the global visual identity system and guidelines. The position also entails development of positioning and messaging for key tentpoles, platforms and initiatives to inform creative development and execution.
Major Responsibilities
:Brand stewardship, responsible for managing and protecting the NBA brand including maintaining and reinforcing the NBA's mission, values, brand personality and tone of voice as foundational elements.
:Communicate the NBA brand components to key internal and external constituents including marketing, media, and retail partners and their agencies.
:Develop, implement and govern brand guidelines to enhance brand attribution and further build familiarity and brand equity globally.
:Manage the day:to:day operation of the NBA's Brand Portal, populating content including style guides, logo updates and updated brand guidelines as well as managing the vendor relationship.
:Represent the Brand Team in the internal Business Review process, reviewing partner creative for proper brand alignment and providing feedback and recommendations when necessary.
:Review third:party footage requests including those for documentaries, films and television programs, working closely with Footage Licensing and Content on brand alignment and approvals.
:Develop messaging themes and consumer:facing copy for key tentpoles and initiatives and communicate them out to internal and external constituents.
:Develop briefs to help guide concept and creative development for all tentpoles, serving as a resource for agency partners and internal creative teams.
:Evaluate and provide direction and feedback on creative executions and other go:to:market activations.
:Manage the campaign testing process, working closely with the Consumer Insights team and Advertising to analyze fan research and identify actionable insights to improve campaign performance.
:Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Bakground Required:
Bachelors Degree
Required Experience and Knowledge:
:At least 10 years of marketing strategy related work experience
:At least 4 years of experience in the sports, entertainment, agency or branding industries
:Strong understanding of branding principles.
:Strong written and oral communication skills.
:Experience in strategic planning and copywriting.
:Ability to work under demanding deadlines and within a fast:paced environment.
:Strong organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
:Detail:oriented.
:Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
:Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
:Independent and self:motivated.
:Marketing strategy and branding experience a plus.
:Strong knowledge or interest in the NBA a plus.
Salary Range:135,000 : 155,000
