This exciting opportunity involves taking on a new role within the Council to deliver both internal and external events. The position is part of the newly established Economic Development and Culture Team, created through recent strategic refocusing and investment in additional resources.
Who?
The Council is looking to appoint to the new position of Events co-ordinator to join the newly established team. You will need to be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and a passion and interest in event delivery.
The role will deliver our internal Council events, as well as overseeing the delivery of various external events aligned with the Council’s priorities in economic development, culture and tourism. The immediate responsibilities will include managing and delivering internal events, introducing innovative ideas to enhance the current programme, and overseeing the delivery of our planned external events. Additionally, the role will involve identifying and evaluating opportunities to expand the events programme and exploring new marketing and promotional strategies in collaboration with the wider team.

What will you be doing?
The Events co-ordinator will be responsible for:
Co-ordinating, planning and delivering an agreed annual events programme, to include the delivery of internal events on behalf of the Council and the management of external events, working with key stakeholders
Work with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of events and external partners and event organisers to deliver external events
Act as the ‘responsible officer’ at external events delivered by the Council and ensure current health and safety legislation is adhered to across all events
Monitor performance and attendance at events against agreed targets / outputs
Plan and deliver audience appropriate promotional and marketing campaigns for each event
What do you need?
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, having the ability to engender productive relationships with internal and external partners
Experience in event planning and delivery, evidence of meeting targets and deadlines
Experience of working with partners, either internal or external
Must be flexible with working hours for evening meetings and out of hours work required for event delivery
