At our advanced rotating equipment service centre in Ellon, Aberdeen – recently enhanced by over £1 million in investment – we specialise in the repair and refurbishment of all types of rotating equipment, no matter the original manufacturer. We offer performance and material upgrades to align with evolving process demands and provide tailored engineering solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance. We are now seeking a talented Technical Quality Repair Engineer to join our team and help drive our world-class service and solutions forward.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
* Assist with failure analysis, repair method selection, and technical queries.
* Review and approve workshop inspection reports and work instructions.
* Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify failure modes and technical improvements.
* Develop quality plans for repair projects and track activities through production.
* Perform Quality Control checks and compile documentation packs for client release.
* Deputy RP for Repair and Overhaul according to IEC 60079-19
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A recognised qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience with the failure analysis, repair method selection, and overhaul of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and compressors.
* Familiarity with technical specifications, certification requirements, and selection of materials for rotating equipment repairs.
* Strong ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis and identify failure modes to drive technical improvements.
* Experience in reviewing and approving workshop inspection reports and work instructions, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and IEC 60079-19 requirements.
* Ability to develop job-specific quality plans and manage the full repair cycle, from initial inspections to final testing and despatch.
* Proficient in compiling materials and service requisitions, managing equipment history records, and preparing Documentation Packs for client release.
* Excellent communication when liaising with sub-contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure technical and quality requirements are met.
