Autism Support Assistant
Location: Bolton, BL2
Salary: £84+ per day (PAYE, paid weekly)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and helping them thrive in a classroom environment? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of students.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to a student with autism, tailoring assistance to their individual needs.
* Offer general support within the classroom to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
* Assist with social and emotional development, promoting confidence and independence.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
* Support communication and interaction using appropriate techniques, including visual aids and PECS (if applicable).
* Encourage positive behaviour and help manage any challenges effectively.
* Adapt activities to ensure accessibility for all students.
* Provide feedback on student progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Qualifications:
* A caring and patient approach to working with children with autism and SEN.
* Experience working with children (formal or informal experience is welcomed).
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive and flexible attitude to classroom support.
* No formal qualifications are required, but relevant experience or training is beneficial.
* A willingness to learn and develop skills through training opportunities.
