Youth Mental Health Support Worker

Salary: £83.40 per day

About the Role:
Axcis Education is collaborating with a reputable further education institution to recruit a dedicated Youth Mental Health Support Worker. This role involves providing one-on-one support to students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialised centre at the Somer Valley Campus in Radstock.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer tailored support to students, fostering their academic and personal development.
2. Implement strategies to manage and support ADHD and SEMH challenges, promoting a positive learning environment.
3. Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and execute individualised learning plans.
4. Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the educational team and stakeholders.
5. Encourage and facilitate student engagement in both academic and extracurricular activities.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Previous experience supporting individuals with ADHD and SEMH needs is ideal but not essential.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
3. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
4. Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are advantageous.
5. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
