Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Tameside)
Location: Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
A well-established secondary school in Ashton-under-Lyne is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide support to students across KS3 and KS4. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, particularly working with students who may need additional support in their academic journey. The position will involve a mix of 1:1 support, small group work, and assisting in whole-class learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Work alongside teachers to provide targeted support to students during lessons, helping them achieve learning objectives.
* 1:1 and Small Group Work: Provide tailored support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs or those who may struggle with core subjects.
* Behaviour Management: Assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment by promoting good behaviour and providing pastoral support when needed.
* Progress Monitoring: Track students' progress, providing feedback to the teacher and suggesting interventions or strategies for improvement.
* SEN Support: Assist students with specific learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a school environment.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of a team, and strong organisational skills.
* Qualifications: A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
* Personality: Caring, patient, and empathetic, with a strong commitment to promoting positive learning experiences.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
