About Accommodation Services
Accommodation Services provides over 1300 bed spaces, across 8 Halls of Residence in the heart of the University Campus in Glasgow. Our customers are diverse and include those attending a course in preparation for university study; those joining Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses from Scotland, other parts of the UK and many other parts of the world.
Our accommodation is mostly let to students during term-time and over the summer months it is let commercially to visitors and groups. The department is self-financing, with the net surplus being reinvested into a programme of refurbishment and modernisation. There is a team of around 70 staff including cleaning, housing, administration, maintenance and management.
Work Environment
Accommodation Services are based in the Lord Todd Building in the center of the Student Village. The reception is staffed 24/7 to maintain an essential level of front-line support for students and guests and to allow for any building issues or incidents to be quickly attended to.
Whilst the majority of the University closes at night, there can often be a hive of activity in the Student Village as students enjoy the independence that comes with living away from home. Staff working nights are essential to the services provided by the department.
