A well-established primary school in Hounslow is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to cover a maternity leave on a part-time basis (2-3 days a week). This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage the school’s SEN provision while contributing to the success and development of students with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. The Role: Lead and oversee the SEN provision across the school, ensuring the needs of SEN students are being met effectively. Work closely with class teachers and support staff to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) and appropriate interventions. Collaborate with external agencies to provide support for students with more complex needs. Monitor the progress of SEN students, ensuring they are making appropriate academic and personal progress. Support teachers and staff by providing advice and training on SEN strategies, promoting an inclusive approach across the school. Manage the SEN budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively for maximum impact. Maintain a strong partnership with parents to ensure they are well informed and supported in their child’s educational journey. The Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a SENCO qualification (or working towards it). Previous experience as a SENCO, or in a role with significant experience in managing SEN provision. A strong understanding of SEN strategies and experience working with students with a range of special educational needs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals. Able to manage a small team and offer guidance and support to other staff members.
