We are seeking a competent machinery minded stockperson with a dairy farming work background, who would complete our team on a progressive farm near the picturesque village of Litcham. This role has its foundation at the home farm unit, running with an emphasis on forage/grazing and now running with an adjoining sister unit both with 340 Crossbred cows block calving in the autumn period on each site. There is an excellent mix of responsibilities which includes TMR feeding and grassland management across the two units as primary responsibilities along with their associated stock work and can include some milking.
The herds are managed on a forage-based system with the housed period on sand cubicles with semi TMR feeding; the yields are around 8,500 litres a cow. Milking is through 24:48 parlours, DTL with ACR's, complete with auto shedding, heat time and state of the art handling facilities; the home farm also includes excellent calf rearing facilities, silage clamps and feedstores which cater for both units.
This position offers the benefit of a seasonal workload and hence much easier summer months, along with an excellent 3-bed house located centrally between the two units and an excellent remuneration/regular time off package.
If you are looking for a challenging team role with a future, can offer a solid foundation of stockmanship, consistency and attention to detail; please contact James Picot on for more details.
