We are currently working with a leading testing and evaluation engineering business who are looking to recruit an Trials Engineer, based in the Presteigne area.
The role
As a Trials Engineer, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for conducting trials on munitions and explosive materials, blast, and ballistic trials on armoured vehicles. Testing passive and reactive armour as well as engineering tests on numerous innovative projects.
In this role you will be expected to, but not limited to:
• Responsible for the Inspection/examination of all equipment and materiel prior to any testing
• Responsible for arranging, conducting, and finalising trials
• Produce comprehensive reports detailing results from the trial
• Must be able to operate as an individual and within a team displaying positive behaviours to achieve positive results and outcomes.
• Expected to be agile, resourceful, and flexible able to adapt to changing priorities as necessary to support our customers.
Candidate requirements
Essential experience
• Engineering HNC or experience through a structured engineering apprenticeship
• UK Driving licence
• You must be able to attain UKSV (United Kingdom Security Vetting) SC clearance
• High standard of literacy, numeracy, and IT (MS Office and instrumentation software)
• Ability to interpret technical data and compose detailed reports
Desirable Requirements
• Ability to operate plant equipment such as telehandlers and forklifts
• Desire to learn CAD software
• Experience with ballistics and munitions
• Desire to grow experience on other technologies
• Good practical knowledge of instrumentation techniques
• Practical abilities including but not limited to the use of hand tools, basic woodworking, and metal fabrication equipment
• Health & Safety training – IOSH Working Safely
