We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the migration of our Trust’s data management services in preparation for the implementation of a new Electronic Patient Records (EPR) system in April 2026. This role will ensure a seamless transition to a new data warehouse environment, and customer-focused business intelligence service delivery model. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in SQL Server databases, ETL processes and data model design, along with a proven track record of data engineering within a healthcare or NHS environment. A strong focus on delivering high-quality, secure, and accessible data services is essential to support informed decision-making and operational excellence across the organisation.
This role offers flexibility, with UK based remote working options available and the possibility of part-time hours.

* Collaborate with Information Team Leads to understand service needs and translate them into data solutions.
* Develop and execute a comprehensive data infrastructure migration strategy for migration and decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.
* Develop a detailed data migration and infrastructure set-up roadmap and workplans with milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
* Allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones and resolve project-related challenges.
* Identify and test methods for robust, scalable, and efficient cross organisation data transfer.
* Provide hands-on technical guidance to EPR reporting workstream leads.
* Develop and test disaster recovery plans in the new environment.
* Lead the adoption of new tools and frameworks to improve team efficiency and system performance.
* Implement processes to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data workflows in the new infrastructure.
* Catalogue non-epic existing data sources currently warehoused.
* Set-up and configure the TSD new data warehouse environment including networking, security, and access controls.
* Establish policies for data security, compliance, and governance.
* Define roles and responsibilities for data access and usage.
* Map and migrate database schemas (tables, views, indexes) to the target environment.
* Adjust for platform-specific differences (e.g., SQL syntax, data types).
* Validate and transform data during migration to match new system requirements.
