Lead QA (Automation) - Once a week in the Manchester office
This is an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer with prior experience in implementing automation frameworks, particularly those who have been deeply involved in making decisions about the environment and implementation strategy. In this Lead QA role, you will not only oversee the implementation and maintenance of the automation framework but also lead and grow a team of Junior Automation Engineers and SDETs, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
Responsibilities will include:
* Draw upon your experience to lead the building and maintaining of an automation framework, taking ownership of key decisions related to the environment and implementation strategy.
* Lead & mentor QA Automation Engineers
* Collaborate with the Head of Development, Software engineering manager, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies
* Implement and maintain automated test suites for functional testing, regression testing, API and performance testing
* Identify, document, and track software defects and work closely with development teams to resolve them
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release management activities to ensure high-quality software releases
* Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in software testing and automation
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of tests
Experience required:
* Previous experience in building and implementing an Automation framework with any programming language (C#, Java, JavaScript, Playwright, Python)
* Experience writing automated, browser-based, end-to-end functional tests
* Hands-on experience in automated API testing
* Experience in Test Plan preparation, estimation, and status reporting
* Experience writing performance tests identifying areas of improvement across a platform
* Experience in Manual testing (UAT/System/Regression)
* Working knowledge of CI/CD
* Working knowledge of Cloud platforms
* Version control (Git)
* Prior experience in mentoring/leading more junior members of the team
